Home Theater Components

In general terms, a home theater system is a mixture of electronic components which are designed to reestablish the experience of watching a movie in a theater. To move on,we need to know some of the major components that make up a home theater and how to integrate it all together to create the system that's best for you and your family.. When you watch a movie on a home theater system, you are more excited in the experience that you feel , than when you watch one on an ordinary television.

Any home theater equipment will require a video display or TV(large-screen television (at least 27 inches across, measured diagonally) with a clear picture.A receiver and a speaker system, including a subwoofer, which is the the soul and sound of the theater. The system will require a player to provide the picture and sound ex DVD and other players are also added to expand the usefulness of a home theater.

LCD and Plasma Screen:

There are many choices to opt for when you look for the video display for your home theater system.
The home theater consumer has choices ranging from the traditional tube-type television to large screen rear projection sets, to the latest hang-on-the-wall Plasma and LCD flat panel monitors. An LCD TV can be found as both a rear projection and as a flat screen. LCD rear projection TVs are very much compact and use less power than their counterparts CRT. Flat panel LCD video displays are, as the name says, flat.To produce excellent resolution, the choice is plasma flat screen.

Majority of TV's nowadays are HDTV(High Definition) which operates digitally.HDTV's have a wider screen as it appears in a theater as opposed to the normal small screen TV.

Plasma and LCD flat screen hdtv televisions are fairly different from one another, although they can both display the highest resolution high definition as of present.Plasma screens have higher contrast ratio (how many different shades of a color which can be displayed so that colors can be deeper or lighter).

Receiver and Speakers:

The main thing that sets a home theater apart from an ordinary television setup is the surround sound. For a proper surround-sound system, you need two to three speakers in front of you and two to three speakers to your sides or behind you.Receivers do the task of taking the audio signal and splitting into multiple channels so that different sound information comes out of the various speakers.

Ex: Onkyo 5.1 surround receiver

In any sound system, ultimate quality depends on the speakers.Normally Five speakers are required for a surround sound system. There are many types of speaker wire like Speaker Wire , Flat Speaker Wire, or Round Speaker Wire and comes in various sizes. The surround sound wiring you plan to do can make a big difference on what type you chose to use. The last thing to consider when you start your surround sound wiring is the location of the speakers.

The average 5.1 surround sound setup has 6 speakers. A Center Channel, two front speakers, two rear speakers, and one sub woofer. In a 5.1 surround sound system, the ‘.1’ is the subwoofer.he role of the subwoofer is to produce the lowest tones, for ground shaking bass.

Blu-ray or HD DVD player:
If your desire for High definition ,then you can go for Blue-ray player .Blue ray is the latest technology

Home Theater Pre-wire :By Pre-wiring,you can be confident that your home theater will have the no visible wires custom home theater look. When pre-wiring for a Home Theater, it is critical that the ground connections be wired in a very specific way.The net result will be noise power with a 'deep black background' in which to enjoy your audio and video presentation.
A key factor before you start pre-wiring your home is planning.

A/V equipment location-The first step is to know where your home theater equipment will be installed in the room. This is the central location where all the wire from speakers, subwoofers, TVs, front projection systems and accessories will merge and be terminated to the equipment
* Selecting and installing the correct wire for the pre-wire
* Pre-wire for future upgrades and flexibility
* Use the correct tools when pre-wiring
* Route the wire correctly in the wall and in the ceiling
* Terminate the wire correctly to the A/V components

Structured wiring is a generic term used to describe many different types of residential wiring products that distribute a variety of data signals throughout a home.

Ultimate Media/Game Rooms and Personal Theaters

Home Theaters require tremendous expertise in a wide variety of disciplines such as architecture, ergonomics, construction, acoustics, sound isolation, electronics, automation, seating, and lighting. The resulting rooms are amazing both in appearance and performance. Yet in the past, not everyone could afford one.

Better still, you can control this from your sofa, recliner or favourite chair and experience the ultimate in leisure and enjoyment.

Media Rooms:

Media Rooms are a great way to ensure everyone in the family is able to enjoy your audio/video investment. This is also a good option for those who can't dedicate an entire room for watching only movies. What other room offers the capability of gaming, digital picture viewing, MP3 listening, web surfing, movies and videos, all using the same equipment? Your Home Theater equipment! Unless you have the extra floor space to dedicate your room as a sound room or theater room, a Media Room is a practical approach to having a multi-function room and including home theater equipment in it.

Media Rooms can deliver family entertainment to all while maintaining individual preferences for those who use it. This is same room where families come together to share their vacation pictures on the large television screen and the same room where you escape to become lost in your favorite sitcom each week. This is the room you enjoy hearing background music while entertaining guests and the same room you surf the web after hours using the large flat screen.

The Media Room provides full service Audio & Video design, sales, and installation to Oakland and Macomb County residents. We specialize in catering to all of your home theater needs, while providing the tools and knowledge to create a user friendly home entertainment system

Game Rooms:

Many people treat Game Rooms as nonessential. However, this is a delusion. Firstly, they add value to your home and secondly you get that extra entertainment space to hang out with your friends. You can't imagine your Game Room having less than two large plasma screens, a game console for both, seating for twelve, a real time sports ticker, 7.1 surround, and a hand held LCD remote control for the ultimate game day experience.

These dedicated Game Rooms are always enjoyable and are able to function as home entertainment centers in the off season. One of the first, and most important benefits, of having home game rooms is the addition of value. Homes that have this luxury feature often sell better and for more money, as they are offering a unique feature to the home.

In addition, home game rooms allow you to utilize the space in your home as efficiently as possible. Because you're not leaving that room as a storage area or as a simple and boring TV room, you can feel like you are maximizing the space you are paying for in your home.

A Personal Movie Theater:

Going to the local multiplex theater is a thing of the past.
